Do I have to learn the script?

No — every word carries a romanisation beside it, and you can work entirely from that. But the script is taught from the first level because romanisation hides real distinctions: Hindi पानी and Marathi पाणी are both written paani and are not the same sound.

Is it really eleven languages, or one with translations?

Eleven, and any of them can be your starting language rather than only your target — twelve possible sources against eleven targets, which is 121 pairs. The lessons, explanations and translations are written per language pair, not machine-translated from an English original.

My source language isn't Indian. Can I still use it?

Yes. English works as a source exactly as it does elsewhere. The difference is that it is one option among twelve rather than the only one.

Will it work for my child?

It is built for anyone learning a heritage language, and there is no separate children's mode. The pronunciation score does give practice a finish line, though: 71 becomes 90, the reason to try once more is visible on screen, and that is more than a grammar drill offers anyone.

Does the pronunciation scoring need a perfect recording?

No lab, no headset. It is least reliable on very short words, where there is little for it to work with, and background noise affects it more than you would expect. If it repeatedly fails a word you are confident about, tell us — those reports are how we find bad reference audio.

Do I need to be online?

Lessons and audio can be downloaded for offline use. Pronunciation scoring and AI conversation need a connection, because the work happens on a server rather than on your phone.

How do I cancel?

In your iPhone or Android subscription settings, not in SparkKing — Apple and Google hold the subscription. Deleting your account does not cancel it, so do both if you are leaving.
